I am a machine that was ticked together by a million fates, just to arrive at this semblance. I am wonderfully and fearfully made. And yet I know that I must wonder always upward, for I was not responsible for making the billions of parts of me work in unison; the logic at my control is woefully inferior to anything like what organized it thinking about itself. I imagine angels, who according to the good book we are created a little less than they. How would it be to speak to the least of which of them would outshine Shakespeare in his verbiage? And I begin — only begin — to think about the God who is love, who could make the all the elements act just as they are, made from simple ingredients we are still trying to tease the mystery out of. For this is what we are made in the image of, however frail the shadow we are of the awesome.
