Where have I wandered? Where have I been? Am I waking up again? I go through this every now and again, as if I am beginning once more, as if my birth was always left uncompleted. What do I do? What shall I say? And why? Why? Why? This dreamer has spent much, much time dreaming of some day when he is to be ready (for what he never knows), but when that day comes, he is completely at a loss — for any and everything. Life is not what happens when you're busy making other plans (ala John Lennon), but it is rather all that planning you do — that passes for life most of the time. But you know, how does one, in fact, do it: seize the day? Everyone always told me to, and never told me what that meant. And of all that dreaming... it is the safer thing than this gritty life, softer, but there comes a time when morning breaks and the light peals in through your window — I will grab whatever I can, and go... Maybe that's it?

I can try to explain what I interpet it to mean,but I think it apropriate to warn you that you might end up more confused.
To seize the day you kinda float.You don`t rely merely upon planning.You grab whatever comes your way,you try to work with what you got and make the best of things.You go out into the world and never stop wondering about it all,never stop to puzzle.You live your life so that you do not regret anything,so that you will do more good than bad.And you refuse to be a sheep like the rest- and you fight to be not just another face in the crowd.You use whatever powers or abilities you have.Basically I think that is kinda what some at least think of when telling somebody to seize the day- at least that is some of what I understand it to be..

I will take the liberty to scribble down a few well spoken words regarding the abow ;
"Carpe diem, memento mori"
This phrase was a very common one in the periode around 1600(which name I cannot spell in english).This was ofcause said in the time of the greater philosophers of newer time.Among them- and maybe the most important of these were Descartes(also Spinoza,Hobbes,La Mettrie and Calderon are worth mentioning).
Maybe I should explain what the phrase means- since there aren`t too many people who speak Latin fluently ;)
Well, basically it say "seize the day, remember you are going to die".
So I guess you are right when you ask "maybe that`s it?", on the top of this page!If you have a linear view on life I guess you better grab whatever you can before you got to pack up and leave.
